Ella Barnes School Mission Statement

We will explore new horizons in education hand in hand.

We learn something today we did not know yesterday because what we learn today will impact our tomorrow.

We will look for opportunities to demonstrate acts of kindness to help make our school, our community, and our world a better place.

Attention Parents! If you are having trouble logging in to the echalk web page or activating your child's account, please email Ms. Massey @ bimassey@echalk.ccisd.us.

I will be happy to walk you through the process. When you email me, please include your child's name and a contact number where you can be reached.

Parents wishing to complete a background check can do so by visiting the Volunteer Opportunities folder under the Campus Corner tab. There is a direct link to register for a background check.

Principal's Message

On behalf of myself and the entire staff at Ella Barnes Elementary, I would like to welcome you and your children to a truly wonderful learning community. Barnes' excellent teaching staff and support personnel want to ensure that every child succeeds. Our goal is to support and encourage each child in achieving his/her optimum potential by instilling in them an intrinsic sense of worth, curiosity, and love of learning. If there is something going on that you feel may impact your child's success or focus at school, please communicate with your child's teacher, myself, or any staff member. We are here to support you and your student in the pursuit of excellence. Being actively involved in your child's education is essential in developing a strong partnership between home and school. It is very important each day to make sure you take time everyday to connect and be present with your child. Talk to your child about what they are doing in school, have your child read to you, provide a quiet place to do homework everyday, and help your child stay organized! Our campus vision is to emphasize positive self-esteem, high academic standards, and civic responsibilities as we cultivate an appreciation for learning. The Barnes PTA is essential in supporting our school. Their efforts provide many school activities and support our programs. We are a school where everyone shares in the responsibility for the success of every one of our students. As always, we welcome you on campus and value your input about your children. We look forward to our continued work together in 2010.

Ella Barnes Elementary School is located in the Greenfields subdivision, south of South Padre Island Drive, near the intersection of Rodd Field Road and Wooldridge Road.
